Hello and welcome to my collection of eLearning samples!

To date, most of my work is commissioned by education providers in the field of Health, Wellness and Fitness. I have collaborated with many organizations for their eLearning needs. I work closely with each client to learn their company culture, their exact needs and their intended outcomes. For audio or video media presentations, we offer both male or female voice; we will work with any color variants used in your branding and we provide a satisfaction guarantee with our programs.

Click on the tabs below to learn more about me and what factors have informed me toward developing my philosophy of Instructional Design.  Further below you will find this same material packaged in Captivate for an interactive responsive project that concludes with a quiz demo.

In consideration of displays: if your organization issues tablets, smartphones and PC/laptops, we can use the dimensions of these devices for the best fit.  If your content is viewed globally, we select the top 5 most popular displays.  This works for everyone because my clients get the intended outcomes they seek and their learners get a button-down program that keeps them engaged and interested in the content.

To begin: a “Wellness Library” entry

My client wanted to develop a “library” of items to post on its social media pages. While they were uncertain of directions to take the project, I recommended that we present something that provided solutions for our current pandemic.  Since they are a health and wellness company, I proposed a course that would inform the user on the need to boost immunity for optimal health in the face of a contagious virus.

We use gamification, providing badge challenges for learners – but more so for comprehension than for simply completing modules. We can customize any gamification processes you prefer.

We also use LifterLMS if you prefer a full Learning Management System experience. LifterLMS has a robust quiz and exam interface, fully customized for client needs. This includes extensive reporting, group enrollment and multiple instructor/managers.   A truncated version of a Course delivered using our LifterLMS is provided for you here as well.

Here we have a sample of a program provided for a client who provides Wellness Coach training. This is an example where interactive content is made available to the user. Click the seal to watch this module.  Notes for this Presentation:

Learners were provided predictive presentations…. we gave them situations and let them guess the best approach as the Wellness Coach.

The Benefits:  Most learners are required to take this course before coaching humans.  We made a program that has variable scenarios for learners of different levels of understanding.   If someone is new to coaching,  making a guess allows them get involved and make a decision.  If someone knows this skills as second nature, they get the reward of showing what they know up front.

  • We like to use Captivate because it allows for quizzes and reporting; a sample is provided at the end of this module. Reporting is also customized for your needs.
  • This is one Module of 7 in total included for this Certification training course.   There is an LMS version of a similar course provided at the bottom of this page as well.

This is a sample of an Adobe Captivate program, used for a Sport Psychology Coach certification.

How I did it: This sample is an example of working with Subject Matter Experts, using multiple video files that have been sorted for chapter sequencing and color coded to influence better recall of materials.

Next, we provide another eLearning sample commissioned by the same organization that hired me for the Sport Psychology Coach program listed above.  This course required meeting with SME’s once again, but also required integration into the existing structure of their Learning Management System.  Each module included a separate Quiz, and resources for the course were clearly laid out for easy student access.

Viewable on all devices, we encourage you to explore different views to see how the scalable features of Captivate work for these eLearning programs.   These projects succeed because multiple media files are used throughout the courses (over 90 in total) and Captivate effortlessly houses everything nice and tidy!

The next screenshot sample provided is an example of a knowledge check for an Coaching Education Research project used by an post-secondary organization. Learners are able to see a simple scenario, with domains included to assist with recall of content. For each option selected, feedback pop-ups are included to guide the learner to make the proper selection. Navigation is made intuitive for learners. When included in a Learning Management System, reporting for completion is also an option.

Why this works:  Adult Learning can be complex; we use layers of content to encourage reflective thought and ease of cognition.  A learner might click on the wrong answer but it does not mean that they will not eventually learn the correct one.  This allows the process to be both robust and informative without being punitive.

Lets take a look at another quick project I made for a steel fabrication company that manufactures heat-transfer units.  This lesson became one small part of the larger safety program we packaged for them.  Here, my client needed a course on the topic of workplace injuries and forklift safety.  The existing instructor-led course was all text and bullet points; not really anything too exciting.  I opted to make a course that would draw learners in and get them interested – a bit of a challenge when it comes to teaching corporate policy.  This quick Captivate program allows the user to interact and get the most important information quickly – while using a colorful, attractive design.

How about a light, fun tab exercise – just to demonstrate what is possible with your training needs.  While viewing content screens, we wanted to have users see the fruits featured in the order they chose with random selections.  Rather than make active hover states, we simply redirected the slides – making for a clean interaction with the learner.  There are more complex ways to do this, but we go with what works without things getting sloppy.

The Idea for This Project:  This was a timed contest for the eLearning Community I belong to … to produce a project that shows the simplicity of making tab-based learning!  It works here because we made a quick interactive storyline that we could easily share – to promote the use of color, functionality – all while making a simple, reusable template for a fun knowledge check.

Below is a sample from our LMS (Lifter). This robust LMS has every feature imaginable for your Learners.  Auto enrollment, group enrollment, unlimited content presentations, quiz and exam reporting and a progress bar that responds to both “Mark Complete” and “Mark Incomplete” for students to go back to sticky spots, or to simply track and navigate course progress.   This course requires you to enroll in order to see the samples; this is done so that you see more of the learner experience.
